  The valve suddenly releases water and empties part of the circuit, and then the system needs to be refilled.

  Cause: If the seat does not close properly after firing, it continues to drain water even though the pressure is normal.

  After a discharge, check if the dripping continues once the pressure has returned to its normal value; if it doesn't stop, the seat is not closing.

  A ring of dry lime appears under the discharge pipe, although it is not dripping at the moment.

  Cause: Indicate that the valve has released water at some point earlier, usually due to a pressure spike in the circuit.

  Check the date of the last maintenance of the boiler; an isolated pressure spike doesn't always mean the valve is faulty.

  The pressure gauge shows a normal pressure, but occasionally a brief spurt comes out of the pipe.

  Cause: Lime deposits on the seat can prevent a perfect seal and allow small amounts of water to pass intermittently.

  Bleed the air from the radiators: the accumulated air in the circuit can also cause pressure spikes that activate the valve without it being faulty.

  The manual bleed lever or button is stiff and difficult to move.

  Cause: The mechanism may have seized due to lack of use or internal deposits, preventing it from opening when necessary.

  With the system cold, carefully operate the manual bleed; if it doesn't give way with moderate pressure, do not force it and consider replacing it.

  It makes a fine whistling sound next to the valve when the boiler is running.

  Cause: A small passage of water or air through a seat that doesn't close completely generates that characteristic whistling sound.

  Wipe the body of the valve and the discharge pipe with a dry cloth to locate if there is moisture right at the point of the noise.
