  Check if the valve takes a long time to react or does not move at all with a domestic hot water tap open before considering it faulty.

  Noise or clicking in the valve when switching between domestic hot water and heating.

  Cause: The internal gears of the motor are worn out or the shutter hits at the end of its travel.

  Confirm that the noise is coming exactly from the gas valve and not from another nearby part by touching the boiler with your hand at the moment of the change.

  Water leak from the body of the three-way valve

  Cause: The internal O-rings wear out with the heat and pressure cycles typical of this valve.

  Check if the leak comes from a threaded joint, which sometimes only needs to be tightened before replacing the entire gas valve.

  The boiler display shows a switching or valve error.

  Cause: The control board detects that the gas valve does not reach the expected position by the limit microswitch.

  Note the exact fault code and check it before purchasing; some codes may indicate a problem in the control board and not in the gas valve.
