  Open a hot water tap and listen for the click of the gas valve motor when the demand starts; if it doesn't move, it could be the motor or the microswitch and not the valve body.

  The water comes out mixed, neither completely cold nor completely hot, from the hot water tap.

  Cause: The valve does not close the heating flow properly, and some water leaks into the wrong circuit.

  Measure the supply and return temperature of the heating system with the hot water tap open: if the return drops significantly, the valve is allowing water to flow through both paths at the same time.

  There is a puddle or pool of water under the hydraulic group, near the gas valve.

  Cause: The O-rings in the body dry out or crack over time and start to leak from there.

  Dry the area well, start the boiler, and locate the exact point of the drip before considering the entire part good: sometimes it's a flange or a nearby fitting, not the gas valve.

  The boiler takes too long to switch from heating to domestic hot water, as if it is taking time to process.

  Cause: The valve mechanism gets stuck with limescale deposits, and the motor requires more power and time to move it.

  If the boiler has not been used for months for hot water, turn the tap on and off several times in a row: if it improves with use, it is scale and not a definitive fault.
