Alfa Laval Plate Heat Exchanger Cointra Edyco ED 21 EI / ED 21 I Art.Nr. YYY008991354
Plate heat exchanger manufactured by Alfa Laval, identified by the logo and the article number engraved on the piece itself. It transfers heat between the primary circuit and the domestic hot water circuit of the boiler. It is replaced due to leaks between circuits, loss of temperature of the hot water, or drop in flow due to scaling. Compatible with Cointra Edyco ED 21 EI and ED 21 I.

How to check if the part number 9158445 is the one for your boiler.
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 9158445. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the heat exchanger 9158445 resolves.
The plate heat exchanger transfers heat to the domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The hot water comes out intermittently, with the temperature rising and falling while you shower.
Cause: The heat exchanger does not transfer heat consistently because its plates are partially blocked by scale.
Check if the problem occurs only with high domestic hot water flow; open the tap to the maximum and see if it worsens.
- 02
You see water dripping in the area where the heat exchanger is installed.
Cause: A damaged gasket or PCB allows water to escape outside the circuit at that specific point.
Dry the area well, turn on the boiler, and use paper to locate the exact point where the water is coming from before disassembling anything.
- 03
There is low flow or low pressure of hot water even though the rest of the system is functioning well.
Cause: The plates obstructed by scale reduce the water flow and limit the flow rate that can pass through the heat exchanger.
Compare the flow of cold and hot water at the same faucet; if the hot water is clearly weaker, point to the heat exchanger.
- 04
The pressure of the boiler gradually decreases without any visible leaks outside.
Cause: An internal leak between the primary circuit and the domestic hot water circuit allows water to be lost through the tap without leaving a visible trace.
Close the filling valve and check if the pressure continues to drop in the following days; if so, suspect an internal leak.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
