Pressure Sensor PSN0001 B for Vaillant Turbocombi Boiler VMW 232-1 - Ref. 050603
The pressure sensor PSN0001 B is a part for the Vaillant Turbocombi VMW 232-1 boiler. Its function is to measure the water pressure in the circuit and send this information to the boiler's PCB. When it fails, you may notice incorrect readings and possible lockouts, such as fault codes F.22, F.73, F.74, or F.75. This sensor is compatible with other models in the Vaillant Turbocombi range, such as the VMW 230-1, among others. It is recommended to replace it when it shows faults in pressure measurement or errors in the system.

How to check if ref. 050603 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 050603. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the pressure switch 050603 resolves.
The pressure sensor measures the water pressure for the electronics. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler stops and a pressure fault warning appears on the display, even though the installation's pressure gauge shows normal pressure.
Cause: The sensor sends a signal that does not match the actual pressure, and the electronics interpret that there is a lack of water.
Compare the digital reading of the boiler with the analog gauge of the circuit before confirming the fault of the sensor.
- 02
The pressure value on the display remains stuck at the same number, even if you fill or bleed the radiators.
Cause: The sensor has stopped generating a variable signal and always sends the same signal to the PCB.
Bleed a radiator and observe if the figure on the display moves; if nothing changes, the sensor is not reading.
- 03
The boiler does not start or locks immediately after being turned on, without giving time to modulate.
Cause: The PCB does not receive a pressure signal within the valid range and cuts off ignition for safety.
Check the sensor connector: if it is loose, corroded, or improperly seated, disconnect it and reinsert it before replacing the part.
- 04
The pressure reading fluctuates erratically, rising and falling without anyone touching the circuit.
Cause: An intermittent contact in the wiring or in the sensor membrane causes an unstable signal.
Carefully move the sensor wiring while watching the screen; if the figure jumps when you touch the cable, it's a connection issue, not necessarily the sensor.
Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| F.22 | Safety shutdown: water shortage. | The pressure sensor (050603) may send a reading of pressure that is too low even if the circuit is correct, triggering the safety. Verify by comparing the manometer with the digital reading and check the sensor's power/signal (e.g., autotest S.97 or measurement in harness). |
| F.73 | Fault: water pressure sensor not connected or short-circuited. | Collector fault (open/short) or wiring causes invalid pressure signal. Check continuity and polarity of the harness, supply voltage (5/24 V), and sensor reading in diagnostics. |
| F.74 | Error: electrical problem with the water pressure sensor. | Short circuit at 5/24 V in the harness or internal fault of the sensor generates a pressure signal that is too high/erroneous. Check voltages and replace the sensor if it does not deliver a plausible signal. |
| F.75 | When the pump starts, a sufficient pressure increase is not detected. | If the pressure sensor is faulty/stuck or does not detect the pressure increase at the start of the pump, it triggers F.75. Check the circuit bleed and ensure that the sensor reading changes when the pump starts and matches the pressure gauge. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
