Expansion Vessel Chaffoteaux Niagara Delta 30 FF
Expansion vessel Chaffoteaux Niagara Delta 30 FF, reference 60056676-06. This component is responsible for absorbing the increase in water volume when heated. If it has faults, such as loss of charge or a broken diaphragm, you will notice that the boiler pressure fluctuates sharply, and the safety valve may leak. It is compatible with boilers from the Aludra, Calydra, Celtic, Centora, Elexia, and Nectra ranges, among others. It is recommended to replace it when these symptoms are detected to avoid larger issues.

How to check if it is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference —. If it is not visible, do not identify the part by its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the expansion vessel resolves
The expansion vessel absorbs the expansion of water when heated. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The circuit is gradually losing pressure, and you have to refill more frequently than usual.
Cause: The vessel has lost its air charge or has a leak in the membrane and no longer retains the pressure that it should maintain in the circuit.
Measure the pre-charge pressure of the vessel when cold and without water in the circuit: the label on this part indicates a setting of 3 bar, so if it measures well below that, it confirms the loss.
- 02
The safety valve is leaking or repeatedly discharging water, especially when the boiler is running.
Cause: If the expansion vessel does not absorb the expansion of the hot water, the pressure rises until the safety valve releases it.
Before changing the expansion vessel, check that the safety valve is not simply dirty or damaged at its seat; a valve that does not close properly will leak just the same with a vessel in good condition.
- 03
The glass sounds full, without the characteristic air gap, when tapped with the hand.
Cause: A broken membrane allows water to pass to the air side, and the vessel ends up behaving like an additional section of filled pipe.
With the depressurized system, tap the tank at different points; if the sound is uniform and solid across the entire surface, there is no air inside.
- 04
The pressure rises significantly just when starting the heating and drops when it stops.
Cause: It is the typical signature of a vessel without expansion capacity: all the volume of water that expands goes directly to circuit pressure.
Compare the cold pressure with the pressure a few minutes after operation; a large and repeated difference points to the expansion vessel, although it is advisable to rule out excessive filling first.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
