Intergas Control PCB ic2 - Kombi Kompakt HR 28/24
The Intergas ic2 Control PCB - Kombi Kompakt HR 28/24 is the component that regulates the ignition, burner modulation, pump, and safety features of the boiler. When it malfunctions, the user will notice that the boiler does not start, locks out, or exhibits erratic behavior. This PCB is compatible with several models in the Intergas range, such as Kombi Kompakt HR 22, Kombi Kompakt HR 28, Kombi Kompakt HR 28/24, and Kombi Kompakt HR 36/30, among others. It is recommended to replace it when experiencing the mentioned symptoms or if fault codes 6, 29, or 30 appear.

How to check if the reference 074278 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 074278. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the PCB 074278 resolves.
The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite and the panel shows no activity.
Cause: The ic2 controller manages the entire boiler; if it doesn't work, no component can start.
Check the internal fuse and make sure the boiler is receiving power before considering that the control board is faulty.
- 02
The display shows a fault code that persists after resetting the boiler.
Cause: The ic2 system blocks operation upon detecting a safety anomaly, and it does not release automatically.
Note the exact fault code: Intergas documents it and some indicate problems with the sensor or the pressure, not with the control board.
- 03
The boiler loses communication with the thermostat or the control and stops responding to commands.
Cause: A fault in the control board can interrupt communication, even if the thermostat is functioning correctly.
Check the wiring or the thermostat pairing before replacing the control board.
- 04
The boiler turns on and off by itself after a few seconds, repeating the cycle.
Cause: A fault in the control stage of the IC2 can interrupt the ignition halfway through the process for safety reasons.
First, rule out a fault in the pressure switch or the temperature sensor: they are more common than a fault in the control board.
- 05
The boiler operates erratically: sometimes it ignites properly and other times it does not, without a clear pattern.
Cause: An intermittent fault in the components of the PCB can cause inconsistent behaviors before failing completely.
Keep a record of when it fails (when cold, when hot, after how long it has been on) to confirm that the pattern points to the controller.
Fault codes ACV that this part solves
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | Flame detection fault | The flame detection/management stage of the PCB (control board 074278) may fail and the boiler does not recognise ionisation. Verify by measuring the ionisation current and, after ruling out cable/spark plug and ignition module, replace the control board to confirm. |
| 29 | Gas valve relay fault of the burner | The control relay of the gas valve on the control board (PCB) may remain open/stuck, and the self-diagnosis detects it. Verify by requesting ignition and measuring 24 Vdc towards the valve; if the relay does not switch, replace the control board. |
| 30 | Gas valve relay fault of the burner | Same diagnosis as on the 29th: fault of the gas valve relay integrated in the control board (PCB). Check for the presence/switching of 24 Vdc to the valve during demand; if it fails, replace the control board. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
