  It's getting increasingly difficult to get hot water, or it comes out lukewarm even though the thermostat is set to maximum.

  Cause: Limescale reduces the contact between the heating circuit and the domestic hot water circuit, decreasing the efficiency of the heat exchange.

  Check the age of the heat exchanger and whether any chemical descaling has been performed before considering its replacement.

  When requesting domestic hot water, the pressure in the heating circuit also rises, or vice versa.

  Cause: An internal micro-leak between plates connects the two circuits, causing one to pressurize the other.

  Check the heating pressure gauge when opening a hot water tap: if the pressure rises, the problem may be in the heat exchanger.

  Cloudy water, with sediment or a strange smell, is coming out of the hot water tap.

  Cause: The internal leak between the heating circuit and the domestic hot water circuit mixes additives, contaminating the domestic hot water.
