• 01

  The valve is constantly dripping water from the discharge tube, even with the boiler cold.

  Cause: The internal seat of the gas valve does not seal properly after having operated at some point, or it has worn out with use.

  Check the pressure on the gauge with the boiler cold: if it is below approximately 1.5 bar and it still drips, it points to the valve.

  The valve releases water just when the boiler heats up and the pressure rises.

  Cause: It's its safety function, but if it activates earlier than usual, another component in the circuit might be failing and causing it to trip.

  Check the cold pressure of the circuit and the expansion vessel before assuming the gas valve is faulty, as a discharged vessel can also cause this symptom.

  The valve never releases water, not even when the pressure rises above normal.

  Cause: The mechanism has seized up due to lime scale or lack of use and does not release even though it should.

  If it has a manual bleed lever, carefully activate it to check if it releases water and then close it properly again.

• 04

  There is a visible and permanent leak in the discharge pipe, with lime stains underneath.

  Cause: The internal seat is worn and no longer closes after having released pressure on a previous occasion.

  Dry the area around the discharge pipe and check if it starts leaking again after a few hours with the installation cold.
