How to check if ref. R2905 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference R2905. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the R2905 three-way valve resolves.
The 3-way valve diverts water between heating and domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler only provides heating even if you open the tap for hot water, or vice versa.
Cause: The motor does not move the valve to the opposite circuit because it is jammed or broken.
Request domestic hot water and heating separately and check if the motor tries to move; if it does not react, the problem is with the motor.
- 02
There is no domestic hot water even though the radiators heat well, or vice versa.
Cause: With the motor stopped halfway, the valve does not allow enough flow of domestic hot water or heating.
Check if the problem occurs only when requesting domestic hot water with the heating on; that crossover is typical of a gas valve that does not switch.
- 03
The motor does not turn or stops halfway when it should switch modes.
Cause: The internal gear of the motor wears out or gets stuck and does not complete the rotation.
If you can see the motor, visually check if it moves when requesting the mode change; a partial turn and stop confirms the mechanical fault.
- 04
A buzzing or rattling noise is heard in the area of the gas valve when trying to switch.
Cause: The motor forces the rotation against a jammed mechanism, and that generates the buzzing sound before it locks up.
Note whether the noise occurs every time you change the mode or if it only happened once; if it is recurrent, it is advisable to check the motor.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
