Cause: An irregular gas pressure causes either excess or insufficient gas to reach the burner.
Observe the flame through the sight glass; if it fluctuates without reason with the boiler at a single power level, the problem may be with the regulator.

The boiler does not modulate: it always delivers the same power, regardless of what the thermostat or the tap requests.
Cause: The regulator adjusts the gas pressure according to the signal from the PCB; if it gets stuck, the flame remains fixed.
Request different demands, for example, open a tap fully and then almost close it, and check if the flame size changes.

A slight smell of gas is detected near the boiler.
Cause: A damaged internal gasket or membrane of the regulator can allow gas leakage, even if it's in small amounts.
If you smell gas, turn off the shut-off valve and ventilate before continuing to check: it is not safe to check with the boiler on.
