Symptoms and faults that the manometer resolves
The manometer shows the pressure of the boiler circuit. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults

The needle always stays stuck in the same position, not moving with the actual pressure.
Cause: The manometer mechanism gets stuck or the connection pipe is clogged with scale or dirt.
Open the filling valve for a moment and see if the needle reacts before declaring the pressure gauge faulty.

The reading does not match what the boiler does on a daily basis.
Cause: A partially obstructed connection duct delays the reading compared to the actual pressure of the circuit.
Fill up to the usual cold pressure and check if the needle still changes before replacing the part.

Water is leaking from the thread where the pressure gauge is connected.
Cause: The gasket of the fitting loses tightness over the years and with temperature changes.
Dry the area, tighten the fitting carefully, and check again before replacing the pressure gauge.

The gauge is broken or fogged up, and the red overpressure arc is not clearly visible.
Cause: A blow or the entry of moisture through a deteriorated joint renders the glass unusable.
Check if the fog is inside the glass, which cannot be cleaned from the outside, before deciding that it needs to be replaced.
