Roca RS20-20F Air Pressure Switch Ref. 122160820
If your boiler does not start or gets blocked despite the pressure being correct, you may need the Roca RS20-20F air pressure switch. This part is responsible for monitoring the air pressure and authorizing the operation of the boiler. When it fails, fault codes such as 60-80-90, 40-50-80-90, 19, or 20 may appear. It is compatible with several boilers, such as Roca RS 20/20 F, RS 20/20 T, and R 20/20 F, among others. You should replace it if you notice starting issues or operational blockages.

How to check if ref. 122160820 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 122160820. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the pressure switch 122160820 resolves.
The pressure switch controls the air or water pressure to authorize operation. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler attempts to ignite, you can hear the fan, but it stops before lighting the flame and indicates an air or flue fault.
Cause: The pressure switch does not detect the sufficient depression generated by the extractor and does not allow the gas valve to open.
Check that the flue outlet and air intake are not obstructed by snow, leaves, a nest, or a forgotten construction cap.
- 02
The fan starts but the boiler locks out after a few seconds, without igniting the flame.
Cause: A pressure switch that does not close the contact in time causes the control unit to cut off the gas supply for safety reasons.
Visually check that the silicone tubes of the pressure switch are not disconnected, cracked, or with condensed water inside.
- 03
The boiler works fine for a while and then stops on its own, especially with strong winds or when the flue is long.
Cause: Pressure variations in the flue gas discharge or through a demanding duct can cause the pressure switch to open the contact while it is operating.
Note if the shutdown coincides with wind gusts or with the use of the kitchen extractor hood before considering the pressure switch as faulty.
- 04
The display shows a fault code related to the draft, flue gas evacuation, or lack of air.
Cause: It is the notification given by the control unit when the pressure switch does not confirm that there is sufficient air circulation for safe combustion.
Check the boiler manual for that exact code and rule out a fan fault or a physical blockage in the duct first.
Fault codes for Baxi Roca that this part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| 60-80-90 | Insufficient pressure in the pressure switch or flue thermostat. | The air pressure switch does not close at the start because it does not reach the pressure differential; check continuity at its terminals during startup and inspect the tubes/venturi and ensure the fan generates the vacuum. |
| 40-50-80-90 | Pressure above zero in the pressure switch or flue thermostat. | The pressure switch remains closed when it should be open before ignition; check that it opens by applying slight overpressure/underpressure to its connections and ensure the tubes are not reversed or obstructed. |
| 19 | Waiting for the pressure switch to open. | After shutdown, the air pressure switch does not reopen (detects pressure >0) and prevents the cycle; check that the contact switches to open when the fan stops and inspect the venturi/pipes. |
| 20 | Pressure switch closing delay. | At startup, the air pressure switch does not close due to a lack of depression indicated to the diaphragm; measure continuity during the ignition attempt and check the fan, venturi, and pressure switch tubes. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
