Transformer For Biasi GLM5 13 20 Boiler (Bosch Thermotechnik / ELM Leblanc)
The transformer for the Manaut GLM5 13 20 boiler (Bosch Thermotechnik / ELM Leblanc) is a device that generates the spark needed to ignite the burner. If this part fails, you will notice that the boiler attempts to start without being able to generate a flame and eventually locks out. This transformer is compatible with models such as the GLM5 13 and GLM5 20 from the Manaut range, among others. It is recommended to replace it when these fault symptoms are present to restore the boiler's operation.

How to check if ref. 8716707085 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 8716707085. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the ignition transformer 8716707085 resolves.
The ignition transformer generates the high voltage for the spark of the electrodes. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite any pilot light and does not respond to the switch, as if it has no power.
Cause: The transformer is not supplying the control circuit with the necessary 32 V, so the boiler does not start.
Measure with the multimeter if 220 V from the mains is reaching the primary before changing the transformer.
- 02
The boiler turns on but shuts off by itself after a few minutes, repeatedly.
Cause: A voltage drop in the secondary of 32 V due to a damaged winding causes the control elements to not receive stable power supply.
Measure the output voltage of the secondary with the boiler on and check that it is close to the indicated nominal 32 V.
- 03
There are crackling sounds, a burnt smell, or the transformer is abnormally hot to the touch.
Cause: An internal short circuit causes the transformer to draw more current than it can dissipate, leading to overheating.
Disconnect the boiler and visually inspect the transformer for burn marks before touching it.
- 04
The boiler intermittently fails, and the fault changes or disappears when touching the wiring near the transformer.
Cause: A poor connection in the multipolar connector or in the faston terminals of the transformer causes intermittent power cuts.
Before changing the part, make sure that the black connector and the faston terminals are properly connected and free of oxidation.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
