Cointra Edyco ED 21 I Drain Key Ref. 9158199
If you cannot fill the heating circuit or notice that water is leaking, you may need the Cointra Edyco ED 21 I Drain Key. This key allows you to replenish water in the heating circuit and maintain the proper pressure. When it fails, it can let water pass continuously, causing a pressure increase. It is compatible with several Cointra models, such as Edyco ED 21 I, Edyco ED 21 EI, and SP 21 I, among others. It is recommended to replace it when it shows leaks or does not function properly.

How to check if the ref. 9158199 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 9158199. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the filling valve 9158199 resolves.
The filling valve allows water to refill the heating circuit. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
Water is constantly dripping from the tap, whether it is open or closed.
Cause: The internal seat of the valve does not seal and allows water to pass through continuously.
Make sure that the connection fitting is properly tightened before attributing the leak to the valve.
- 02
There is no way to drain or refill the circuit through that valve.
Cause: The internal passage is blocked by limescale or accumulated dirt.
Try to open it completely and see if any water comes in or out, even if it's just a little, before declaring it unusable.
- 03
The handle or the Allen key turns without you noticing that it actually opens or closes the flow.
Cause: The internal mechanism has become uncoupled from the drive shaft.
Mark the open and closed positions and check if you notice a real variation in flow when moving it.
- 04
There is a slow and constant leak at the fitting, even when the valve is closed.
Cause: The wear of the internal seal no longer allows for complete tightness.
Dry the area and check in a few hours if the humidity reappears with the valve tightly closed.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
