SIT 845 Sigma Gas Valve Vaillant VMW 24/282-5 R1 Ref. 053560
SIT gas valve model 845 Sigma, with two solenoids (EV1 and EV2), modulator, and outlet pressure regulator. The SIT logo and model 845 Sigma are printed on the part itself. It regulates the gas flow to the burner; it should be replaced if the boiler does not ignite, loses flame, modulates poorly, or has a leak.

How to check if ref. 053560 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 053560. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the gas valve 053560 resolves.
The gas valve regulates and modulates the gas flow to the burner. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite and locks up when starting.
Cause: One of the solenoid valves (EV1 or EV2) does not open and gas does not reach the burner.
Check that both electrical connectors of the gas valve are properly fitted before replacing it.
- 02
The flame rises and falls without reason, or the boiler modulates the power poorly.
Cause: The modulator of the gas valve does not properly regulate the gas flow according to demand.
Check for any voltage drops or poor connections in the installation that could affect the modulator.
- 03
A gas smell or a hissing sound is detected near the gas valve.
Cause: The outlet pressure regulator or an internal gasket is losing its seal.
Locate the exact point with soapy water before replacing the part; it could be a loose connection, not the valve.
- 04
The boiler starts but immediately locks out due to flame detection failure.
Cause: The valve takes time to open or does not provide the minimum flow for the burner to ignite.
Check the ionization electrode and its wiring before assuming the problem is the gas valve.
Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| F.61 | Fault: gas valve operation. | The PCB cannot actuate/modulate the gas valve (coils shorted/open or defective wiring harness), so it does not open/close correctly; check coil resistance, wiring continuity, and control voltage during the ignition attempt. |
| F.62 | Gas valve disconnection delay. | The valve takes time to close or does not close tightly, leaving a flame signal after stopping; check tightness/closing time and ensure ionization disappears when the gas is cut off. |
| F.28 | Fault during appliance start-up: failed ignition attempts. | If the valve does not open or is improperly adjusted, gas does not reach the burner and no flame is detected; verify that it receives the opening command and check pressures (inlet and burner pressure) at startup. |
| F.29 | The flame goes out during operation and the next ignition attempt fails. | A valve that regulates poorly or gets stuck can cause a drop in flow/pressure and loss of ionisation during operation; check the stability of pressure downstream of the valve under load and the signal/power supply to the modulator. |
| F.27 | Safety shutdown: flame simulation. | If the valve does not close completely (internal leak), the electronics may 'see' a flame with the valve closed; check the valve's tightness and the absence of ionisation signal with the gas cut off. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
