Honeywell Gas Valve VK8115V for Saunier Duval ThemaFast F30 - Ref. 0020084502
Honeywell VK8115V gas valve for Saunier Duval ThemaFast, ThemaPlus, Thema Condens, and Isotwin Condens F30 boilers. It controls the gas supply to the burner through two solenoid valves (V1+V2) at 24 Vac. It is replaced when the boiler does not ignite, it locks out due to flame failure, or there is a gas leak in the body of the valve.

How to check if the ref. 0020084502 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 0020084502. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the gas valve 0020084502 resolves.
The gas valve regulates and modulates the gas flow to the burner. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite and locks out as soon as you try to start it.
Cause: One of the two internal solenoid valves (V1 or V2) does not open on time and the gas does not reach the burner at the correct moment.
Check if 24 V is reaching both coils during ignition before replacing the complete gas valve.
- 02
The screen shows a flame failure or ignition lockout warning.
Cause: The control board detects that there is no ionization because the gas valve has not allowed enough gas to pass to the burner.
Delete the warning and check if it repeats in the next cycle before replacing the gas valve; an isolated warning may be due to a gust of air in the duct.
- 03
There is a smell of gas in the area of the boiler.
Cause: The body of the valve or one of the two solenoid valves has lost tightness.
Locate the leak with soapy water on the body of the gas valve and at its joints before declaring the part as lost.
- 04
The boiler ignites well for domestic hot water but fails when requesting heating, or vice versa.
Cause: If one of the two solenoid valves (V1/V2) works and the other does not, the behavior changes depending on which circuit requires more gas flow.
Check if the fault always occurs in the same operating mode (domestic hot water or heating) before replacing the entire gas valve.
Fault codes from Saunier Duval that this spare part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| F.26 | Fault: gas valve not functioning. | The stepper motor/coils of the valve do not operate and the gas block does not open; check continuity and resistance of coils, presence of control voltage at the connector, and wiring up to the PCB. |
| F.27 | Safety shutdown: incorrect flame detection. | Non-sealed gas solenoid valve allows gas to pass when it should be closed, generating a 'false flame'; check valve tightness/closure (closure test and pressure drop, verification with analyser). |
| F.28 | Start-up fault: ignition failed. | The gas valve does not open or is misadjusted and does not supply the necessary flow; check gas pressure, voltage to the valve during the ignition attempt, and adjustment/function of the gas block (e.g., test P.01/CO₂). |
| F.61 | Gas valve control fault. | Short circuit/ground in the harness to the valve or damaged coils prevent its activation; check wiring, measure coil resistance, and check for control signal from the electronics. |
| F.62 | Gas valve fault. Disconnection delay. | The valve takes time to close or remains leaking after extinguishing the flame; verify airtight closure and that the flame signal disappears when cutting off the gas, and check/correct the valve if it persists. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
