Saunier Duval ThemaFast Condens F24 Gas Valve

Saunier Duval ThemaFast Condens F24 Gas Valve

Stock · 5 units

The gas valve Saunier Duval ThemaFast Condens F24 is a component that regulates the flow of gas to the burner, operating under the instructions of the boiler's PCB. When it malfunctions, you will notice that the boiler does not ignite, there may be flame lockouts, or poor gas modulation. This model is compatible with various boilers from the Themafast Condens range, such as the Themafast Condens F30, F30E, and F24E, as well as the Thema Condens range, including the Thema Condens F24E, among others. It is advisable to replace it if you experience these recurring issues.

Guide

How to check if ref. 0020018436 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 0020018436. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the gas valve 0020018436 resolves.

The gas valve regulates and modulates the gas flow to the burner. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The boiler tries to ignite but stops without producing a flame.

Cause: The valve does not allow the passage of gas and the unit aborts the ignition.

Check that the gas filter before the gas valve is not dirty or restricting the flow before replacing it.

  • 02

An error code related to the gas valve appears and it trips again after resetting.

Cause: The control electronics do not receive confirmation that the gas valve is open and repeat the lockout when trying to ignite.

Measure the current reaching the gas valve connector with a multimeter before declaring it faulty.

  • 03

The burner varies its power on its own, without the temperature being adjusted.

Cause: The modulation actuator of the gas valve does not regulate the gas flow properly and the flame fluctuates.

Check if the fluctuation coincides with the demand for domestic hot water and heating at the same time, because that could be a problem with the water flow and not with the gas valve.

  • 04

The boiler locks itself after a while, whether it is cold or hot.

Cause: With use, the gas valve may lose internal tightness and allow gas to escape outside the safe range for the control board.

Note if the blockage occurs at the same power level or at the same moment in the cycle; this pattern helps to rule out other causes before replacing the part.

Fault codes from Saunier Duval that this spare part resolves.

CodeFaultDiagnosis and solution
F.26Fault: gas valve not functioning. The stepper motor/coils of the valve do not operate or are disconnected, so it does not open/modulate. Check the continuity of the coils, connector, and harness up to the PCB and ensure it receives voltage in test P.0.
F.27Safety shutdown: incorrect flame detection. The sealed gas solenoid valve may allow gas to pass when it should be closed, causing an implausible flame signal. Check the valve's tightness/closure and absence of flame with the gas cut off.
F.28Start-up fault: ignition failed.Among the causes is an incorrect/faulty gas valve that does not open or supply flow. Check inlet pressure, that the valve is the correct reference, activation signal, and pressure/output during the ignition attempt.
F.56Fault in the regulation of the circulating flow sensor. The manual associates this fault with a faulty gas valve or its wiring harness, so a defective valve may cause incorrect flow/mix reading/regulation. Check the valve and wiring; if it reappears after adjustment, replace the valve.
F.61Gas valve control fault. The PCB detects that it cannot activate the valve (coils grounded/cut). Check insulation and resistance of coils, continuity of the harness, and control output from the electronics.
F.62Gas valve fault. Disconnection delay. The valve sticks or leaks and takes time to close after the flame extinguishes. Check that the flame signal drops when the gas is cut and the valve's tightness/quick closure; replace if there is a delay/leak.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
