The boiler attempts to ignite several times, you can hear the spark attempt, and it ends up locking out without the flame lighting.
Cause: The PCB manages the ignition and the safety time of the gas valve; if the ignition module fails, it aborts the attempt even if the rest of the components are functioning properly.
Before replacing the PCB, check that the ignition electrode and its cable are in good condition and properly connected: a fault there presents the same symptom as a damaged PCB.

The display shows an ignition fault code, or the red fault indicator light turns on.
Cause: The PCB detects that there has been no flame detection within the safety time and marks it as an ignition fault.
Note the exact code displayed and consult it in the manual: the same ignition fault code can be due to the gas, the electrode, or the PCB, not just the latter.

The boiler is completely dead: no indicators, no display, no fan noise.
Cause: The power block and ignition transformer of the PCB, which operates at 230V, may have been damaged and left the rest of the circuit without voltage.
Check if the boiler is receiving the 230V from the mains and inspect the fuse on the PCB, if accessible, before declaring the PCB dead.

The thermostat or control requests heating or domestic hot water, and the boiler does not react at all.
Cause: The PCB is the one that receives the demand from the thermostat and commands the ignition; if it doesn't process that signal, the boiler remains on standby without doing anything.
Check that the thermostat has power and that the wiring or communication with the boiler is not interrupted before blaming the PCB.
