Common symptoms and faults

The hot water tap delivers cold water or barely lukewarm water.
Cause: Limescale builds up between the plates and reduces the heat exchange surface, preventing hot water from being produced correctly.
Check if the water in the area is hard and if the installation has a water softener; if the water is very hard, it is an indication of scaling.

A drip or water stain appears at the threaded connections of the heat exchanger.
Cause: Copper connections can loosen or lose tightness over time, just like the control boards themselves.
Before changing the part, carefully tighten the threaded connections and check that it is not just a loose gasket.

A whistling sound is heard when opening the hot water, as if the water is passing through under pressure.
Cause: When the gap between plates narrows due to limescale, the water accelerates as it passes through and produces that noise.
Check if the whistling also occurs in the cold water from a nearby tap; if it only happens in hot water, point to the heat exchanger.

The heating is working well, but there is no way for the tap water to come out hot.
Cause: The heat exchanger is the mandatory passage of heat to the domestic hot water circuit; if it gets blocked, the fault is only noticeable in the hot water from the tap.
Confirm on the display that the boiler detects the demand for hot water when the tap is opened before requesting the part.
