A pressure switch changes state according to the pressure specified for its circuit. This category includes water and air pressure switches. A water pressure switch responds to water pressure; pressure and flow are different quantities. A flow switch detects flow, while a flow meter measures flow rate; both serve a different function from pressure measurement.
