Cause: If there is little circulation, the water returns lukewarm to the heat exchanger and the boiler operates more than usual.
Increase the pump to the highest speed on the selector before changing it: sometimes that's all it takes.

A buzzing or gurgling sound is heard in the pump when the boiler is turned on.
Cause: It's almost always air in the circuit, not a motor fault.
Bleed the air from the pump head and check the circuit pressure before replacing it.

The boiler locks out due to a differential pressure or circulation fault.
Cause: The differential pressure switch detects that the water is not moving and shuts off for safety.
Check that the pump is running (vibration or buzzing) and that there is no shut-off valve closed in the circuit.

The radiators are cold with the boiler on.
Cause: Without the pump's push, the water does not circulate through the heating circuit.
Bleed the radiators first: the accumulated air in them also prevents circulation even if the pump is working well.

Cause: The mechanical seal wears out over the years and starts to leak.
Tighten the screws on the body and check the flange gaskets before considering the pump broken.
