Ignition Transformer Cointra Supra Compact SPC 21 EI VZ 2/10 HDC Ref. 9158791
Ignition transformer for Cointra Supra Compact SPC 21 EI boilers and the Supra SP/SPA range. It generates the high-voltage spark that ignites the burner. Model VZ 2/10 HDC, power supply 220-240 V at 1.5 VA and 50-60 Hz. It is replaced when the boiler does not ignite or ignition fails despite gas supply and a good condition electrode.

How to check if ref. 9158791 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 9158791. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the ignition transformer 9158791 resolves.
The ignition transformer generates the high voltage for the spark of the electrodes. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite even though it is evident that gas is reaching the burner.
Cause: The transformer does not provide the high voltage needed for the electrode to ignite the gas that is already present.
Check the position of the electrode relative to the burner before changing the transformer: if it is misaligned, the spark will not reach where it should even if the transformer is working.
- 02
The ignition takes longer than usual or sometimes fails, while other times it works.
Cause: A transformer that starts to degrade provides sufficient voltage in some cycles and not in others, causing irregular ignitions.
Note whether the fault occurs during cold start or if it repeats the same in hot conditions; this helps to distinguish an intermittent transformer from another cause.
- 03
The spark attempt can be heard, but the burner does not ignite.
Cause: The spark can sound even if it has low energy; if the transformer does not provide enough voltage, it does not ignite the gas and air mixture.
Check that the distance between the electrode and the ground is correct and that there is no carbon buildup before blaming the transformer.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
