Common symptoms and faults

The boiler tries to ignite, a click is heard in the burner but there is no spark or flame.
Cause: The transformer does not generate enough current for the arc to jump between the electrodes.
Check in the dark, with the boiler requesting ignition, if there is a spark at the electrode before considering the transformer faulty.

The display shows an ignition fault and the boiler locks out after several attempts.
Cause: Without a spark, the control board does not detect flame within the safety time and aborts the cycle.
Check that the electrode and the high voltage cable do not have a cracked sheath or moisture before blaming the transformer.

A crackling or strange buzzing sound is heard in the area of the transformer when starting up.
Cause: A transformer that starts to fail can produce partial discharge or internal leakage before completely stopping functioning.
Check that the distance between the electrodes is correct and that there is no soot bridging the arc.

The boiler ignites sometimes yes and sometimes no, intermittently.
Cause: A damaged coil loses power irregularly, especially with the boiler cold.
Test several consecutive starts and note if the fault depends on whether the boiler is cold or has been running for a while.
