How to check if the part number MU1020100 is the one for your boiler.
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference MU1020100. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the MU1020100 three-way valve resolves.
The 3-way valve diverts water between heating and domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not heat domestic hot water but does heat, or vice versa.
Cause: The valve shutter gets stuck and does not allow the corresponding circuit to flow.
Look, if access allows, that the valve stem moves freely and is not stuck.
- 02
Sudden changes in water temperature when opening a tap
Cause: The valve does not completely close the heating flow when it should prioritize the domestic hot water.
Open and close the tap several times in a row and observe if the fault is constant or only appears intermittently; this helps determine if it is the gas valve or the sensor.
- 03
Water leaks from the body of the gas valve.
Cause: The Giannoni group loses tightness in the internal joints with years of use.
Check if the leak occurs only when the boiler is running or also when it is at rest, to narrow down whether it is the gas valve or the expansion vessel.
- 04
The valve gets stuck after a long period of not using the boiler.
Cause: The internal mechanism gets stuck due to lack of movement and the limescale in the water.
Try a forced start cycle in domestic hot water and heating before purchasing the part; sometimes it self-releases when moved.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
