The boiler does not ignite and there is no flame visible or audible when trying to start.
Cause: The ignition solenoid valve of the gas valve does not open, so gas does not reach the burner even though the rest of the cycle operates correctly.
Check that the main gas shut-off valve is fully open and that no other appliance is interrupting the supply before replacing the gas valve.

The boiler ignites but operates in bursts: it turns off and on by itself instead of maintaining a stable flame.
Cause: The modulation solenoid valve does not regulate the flow properly, and the flame oscillates between on and off.
Check the wiring and the connector of the gas valve to the PCB before replacing it; a loose connection can cause the same intermittent ignition.

There is a smell of gas near the boiler, especially next to the gas valve.
Cause: A worn internal seat in this gas valve can allow gas to pass through even when it is in the closed position.
Locate the exact source of the smell using soapy water on the connections before considering the valve as the culprit: many leaks are at a joint or fitting, not at the valve.

The boiler is locking out, indicating a gas supply issue, even though the supply is guaranteed.
Cause: The valve does not correctly transfer the gas flow to the internal detection system, and the control board interprets that there is no fuel.
