  The boiler gradually loses pressure and the circuit needs to be refilled every few days or weeks.

  Cause: The internal shutter of the valve does not seal properly and allows a small trickle of water to pass through even when it is closed.

  Close the valve tightly, dry the area, and check after a few hours if the pressure continues to drop or if the dripping is coming from another point, such as a bleed valve or a safety valve.

  The valve leaks from the handle or the connection area when used for refilling.

  Cause: The stem seal has hardened over time and no longer seals when turning the knob.

  Tighten the connection fitting and check the condition of the filling hose gasket before considering the key as faulty.

  The blue knob doesn't turn; it's broken or has snapped while trying to open the valve.

  Cause: The plastic of the knob becomes fatigued with the temperature cycles of the boiler and ends up cracking or coming loose from the shaft.

  Check if the inner metal shaft is still intact and rotates: if only the knob has broken, you can carefully hold it with pliers to confirm if the internal mechanism still works.

  When opening the tap, no water comes out, or very little, and it's not possible to refill the pressure.

  Cause: Limescale or dirt from the mains water can block the internal passage of the valve over time.

  Check that the main water inlet valve to the boiler is open and that there is mains pressure before turning the filling valve in case it is obstructed.
