Vaillant PCB VMW 24/282/4-5
If your boiler does not start, locks out, or exhibits erratic behavior, you may need the Vaillant VMW 24/282/4-5 PCB. This part controls the ignition, burner modulation, pump, and safety features of the boiler. When it fails, you might see fault codes such as F.61, F.62, F.63, F.64, or F.65. It is installed in boilers from the Turbotec Plus VMW range, among others. It is replaced when the mentioned symptoms affect the operation of the boiler.

How to check if the reference 0020092372 is the part for your boiler.
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 0020092372. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the PCB 0020092372 resolves.
The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The flame of the burner is unstable, rising and falling without any adjustments being made.
Cause: The PCB does not maintain a stable signal that controls the gas valve.
Check the gas inlet pressure and the condition of the gas valve before considering the PCB responsible.
- 02
The boiler loses the ability to regulate power and always operates at maximum or minimum.
Cause: The PCB has stopped adjusting the output signal.
Note whether the problem occurs in all modes (heating and domestic hot water) or only in one before changing the PCB.
- 03
The boiler is completely off, with no display or indicator lights.
Cause: The PCB is not receiving power and is not supplying the rest of the circuit.
Check the fuse on the PCB and the input voltage on the 230V power strip before replacing it.
- 04
An error code appears and the boiler locks up without giving any option but to reset.
Cause: The electronics detect a condition outside of the safety parameters and lock the equipment.
Check before purchasing what the code corresponds to: it may indicate an external sensor and not the PCB.
- 05
The remote control is unable to communicate with the boiler; it remains searching for a connection.
Cause: The communication module of the PCB is not responding to the requests from the remote control.
Reset the boiler and the control at the same time, and check the bus wiring before replacing the PCB.
Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| F.61 | Fuel valve control fault | The PCB does not correctly control the gas valve (power/output stage or faulty return reading). Check voltage and continuity between the PCB and the valve during demand; if wiring/valve are OK, the cause is the PCB. |
| F.62 | Fuel valve disconnection delay fault | The control circuit of the PCB does not cut the power supply to the gas valve within the expected time or interprets the flame extinction late. Check if there is voltage remaining at the valve connector after shutdown and rule out a valve leak/fault; if it persists, the PCB is defective. |
| F.63 | EEPROM fault | Memory/parameterization error in the boiler's electronics (PCB). If the fault persists after a reset and the power supply is stable, the documented action is to replace the board. |
| F.64 | Electronic fault / NTC | The PCB (ADC/analog input) delivers implausible readings from sensors even though the NTC and wiring are fine. Verify sensors and continuity; if the readings are correct but the fault persists, the cause is the PCB. |
| F.65 | Fault: PCB temperature | Overheating of the electronics: the internal sensor of the PCB detects temperature out of range or the board overheats. Check for external causes (ventilation/heat sources) and, if it reappears without an external cause, replace the PCB. |
| F.70 | Invalid appliance code (DSN) | Unconfigured or misaligned PCB with the display after replacement (incorrect/absent DSN). Verify/adjust the DSN in the service menu (e.g., D93) according to the model; if it does not allow parameterization, reprogram or replace the PCB/display according to the manual. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
