Cause: A weak spark can ignite the gas briefly, but it does not keep the flame long enough for the control board to confirm it.
Measure the gas pressure and check that the gas valve opens correctly before assuming that the problem is only with the transformer.

The boiler locks out due to ignition failure after two or three attempts.
Cause: If the electrode does not receive enough current from the transformer, the control unit does not detect the flame and shuts down operation for safety.
Check that the ignition electrode is not broken, dirty, or improperly positioned before replacing the transformer.
