  Check for any debris or limescale in the cold water circuit that could hinder the operation of the detector mechanism.

  The hot water comes out intermittently, as if someone were turning the tap on and off repeatedly.

  Cause: The flow reaching the detector varies, and it sends start and stop signals to the burner.

  Check the water pressure in the house at that moment: low or unstable pressure can cause the same symptom without the detector being faulty.
