  Cause: The solenoid of the valve does not receive or execute the opening command from the control unit.

  Measure with the multimeter that current is reaching the connector of the gas valve during the ignition attempt, before replacing it.

  The flame either fires at maximum power or shuts off by itself without reason.

  Cause: The modulating coil is not properly regulating the gas flow, and the valve is operating in an all-or-nothing manner instead of modulating.

  Check that the connector of the modulating coil is properly fitted and free of corrosion before replacing the entire gas valve.

  After turning off the boiler, there is still a gas smell for a while.

  Cause: The shut-off solenoid does not seal completely, leaving a small residual gas passage.

  With the boiler cold and turned off, check the outlet of the valve to the burner with soapy water before concluding that it does not close.

• 04

  The boiler performs worse or locks up when there is higher gas consumption in the home.

  Cause: In butane-propane installations, a valve that no longer regulates well is more sensitive to pressure variations from the bottle or tank.

  Measure the level of the bottle or tank and the outlet pressure of the gas regulator before declaring the fault on the gas valve.
