Vaillant ecoTEC PRO VMW 226/3-3 PCB Ref. 0020132764
PCB for Vaillant ecoTEC boilers from the VM and VMW series 226/3-3, 236/3-5, 286/3-3, 296/3-5, and 346/3-5. The silkscreen, read in reverse, identifies the manufacturer as Vaillant Group and the code TL-01. The physical format (terminal block and long red connector) matches that of the PCB used in the VMW 236/3-5. It is replaced when the original PCB fails.

How to check if ref. 0020132764 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 0020132764. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the PCB 0020132764 resolves.
The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler won't turn on, there are no lights or display, as if it's not receiving power.
Cause: The PCB is the one that receives the 230V power supply and distributes current to the rest of the components; if it fails, the unit becomes completely dead.
Measure with a multimeter that 230V is reaching the input connector of the PCB and check the internal fuse before declaring it faulty.
- 02
A different fault code appears on the display each time, without a clear pattern.
Cause: The microprocessor on the PCB interprets the signals from the sensors and the pressure switch; if it fails, it may provide erratic readings that do not correspond to an actual fault in those components.
Note the codes that appear and check if they correspond to a repeatable fault of a sensor or if they change without apparent relation, before replacing the PCB.
- 03
The wall control or thermostat has stopped communicating with the boiler: it doesn't change the temperature, it doesn't display data.
Cause: The PCB manages the communication bus with the control; if that module fails, the control becomes disconnected even if the boiler turns on.
Check that the bus cable is properly connected and undamaged at both ends before replacing the PCB.
- 04
The boiler provides heating well but not domestic hot water, or vice versa.
Cause: Each output (three-way valve, pump, ignition) depends on a relay on the PCB; if one fails, only that function is lost and the rest continues to operate.
Check that the three-way valve physically moves when a tap is opened before assuming the problem is the PCB.
- 05
The equipment shuts off by itself in the middle of a cycle and restarts as if it had been reset.
Cause: A cold solder joint or a degraded capacitor on the PCB causes spontaneous resets of the microprocessor.
Check that the grounding of the installation is correct, because poor grounding can also cause resets and be mistaken for a PCB fault.
Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| F.61 | Fuel valve control fault | The PCB (0020132764) may fail at the control stage to the gas valve, so it does not send the correct signal/voltage and the valve assembly does not activate; check the voltage/signal from the connector on the PCB to the valve and the continuity of the harness. |
| F.62 | Fuel valve disconnection delay fault | The PCB electronics may unduly delay the closure of the gas valve (shutdown circuit), generating the fault; check that the PCB output/relay cuts off immediately upon flame loss and rule out a mechanical leak in the valve. |
| F.63 | EEPROM fault | Corruption or defect of the EEPROM integrated in the PCB; if after resets the code persists, confirm with diagnosis and replace/parameterize the PCB according to the manufacturer's procedure. |
| F.64 | Electronic fault/sensor | Fault in the analog/ADC circuit of the PCB that measures the NTC (flow/return); first check the NTC and wiring, and if they are correct, confirm a defect in the PCB electronics. |
| F.65 | Electronic temp. fault | Overheating/thermal damage in the PCB electronics; inspect the location and external heat sources and check the PCB (signs of heat, degraded components) and its ventilation. |
| F.67 | Electronic/flame fault | Fault in the flame detection circuit/ASIC of the PCB causing an implausible flame signal; check the grounding, ionisation electrode/cable, and if the signal is correct, the PCB electronics. |
| F.70 | Fault: invalid appliance code | After replacing the PCB, the DSN/appliance code does not match or the coding resistor is missing; verify and configure the DSN in d.93 or install the correct coding resistor for the new PCB. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
