Zilmet Plate Heat Exchanger Boiler Fagor FEB 23E N Zilmet
The Zilmet plate heat exchanger of the Fagor FEB 23E N boiler transfers heat from the primary circuit to the domestic hot water instantly. When it malfunctions, the water comes out lukewarm or with fluctuating temperature, and the flow rate of DHW is reduced. This model is compatible with boilers from the Contract Mini CE and FE ranges, such as the CE 24 E, CE 30 E, FE 18 E, FE 23, FE 24 E, FE 26 E, FE 27 E, and FE 30 E, among others. It is advisable to replace it when these symptoms of unstable temperature and low flow are detected.

How to check if the part number MU0886000 is the one for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference MU0886000. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the plate heat exchanger MU0886000 resolves.
The plate heat exchanger transfers heat to the domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The domestic hot water comes out lukewarm or takes a long time to heat up.
Cause: The plates accumulate scale inside and transmit less and less heat to the water flowing through the domestic hot water circuit.
Before replacing it, try a chemical cleaning of the heat exchanger and check if the performance improves.
- 02
A whistling or bubbling sound is noticeable when hot water runs through the boiler.
Cause: The narrowed passage between obstructed plates creates turbulence in the water and produces that noise.
Check if the noise decreases with lower flow, with the tap slightly open, before replacing the part: it helps to distinguish between obstruction and network pressure.
- 03
Moisture or a small puddle appears under the boiler when using the domestic hot water.
Cause: A crack between plates allows water to leak out of the heat exchanger body.
Dry the area well, activate the domestic hot water, and locate if the dripping originates right at the block of PCBs and not at a nearby connection.
- 04
The pressure in the heating circuit rises when a hot water tap is opened.
Cause: A damaged PCB connects the heating circuit with the domestic hot water circuit inside the heat exchanger.
Note the pressure on the manometer before and just after opening the domestic hot water tap to confirm if there is mixing between circuits.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
