Symptoms and faults that the pressure switch resolves

The pressure switch controls the air or water pressure to authorize operation. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

  The boiler does not ignite and a safety lock appears on the display.

  Cause: The pressure switch does not close the contact that allows the boiler to ignite because it does not detect the correct pressure.

  Before changing it, check that the pressure intake tube is properly connected and has no breaks.

• 02

  The extractor spins without any issues, but the boiler stops right after that step.

  Cause: The pressure switch has a contact that may be dirty or worn, which prevents the control board from receiving the necessary confirmation.

  Check the pressure switch connector and its terminals: a poor connection can cause the same fault as a faulty contact.

• 03

  The ignition fault comes and goes, with no fixed pattern between attempts.

  Cause: A mechanical contact that degrades does not always function the same, which causes variations in ignition.

  Note whether the fault occurs more when starting cold or after many hours of use: this helps to identify if the problem is with the pressure switch.

• 04

  The extractor has been replaced and the air pressure fault is still appearing.

  Cause: If the fan is working properly, the next component to check is the pressure switch or its connection tube.

  Before deciding whether the pressure switch is good or bad, gently blow through the tube with the boiler turned off and measure with a multimeter if the contact switches.
