Listen to see if the extractor spins when you request ignition: if it sounds strained or doesn't start, check that the flue gas outlet is not blocked.

A buzzing, squeaking, or loud vibration can be heard in the area of the extractor, even when the boiler is operating normally.
Cause: It is typical of a worn motor bearing or an unbalanced turbine due to dirt accumulation on the blades.
With the boiler off, check if the turbine has dust or grease stuck to the blades; sometimes cleaning it is enough to reduce the noise.

The boiler locks out with a fault code related to flue gas or air, and not always at the same time.
Cause: The extractor motor intermittently loses revolutions and does not always reach the minimum flow required for the safety of the boiler.
Note if the blockage coincides with strong winds or poor outlet from the external duct: first rule out a flue problem before checking the fan.
