Vaillant Ecotec Plus VMW 306/5-5 Display PCB

Vaillant Ecotec Plus VMW 306/5-5 Display PCB

Stock · 1 unit

The Vaillant Ecotec Plus VMW 306/5-5 display board is a control PCB that manages the ignition, burner modulation, pump, and safety features of the boiler. When it fails, the boiler may not start, lock out, or behave erratically, which can generate fault codes such as F.53, F.54, F.56, F.61, or F.63. This part is compatible with models VMW 236/5-5, 246/5-5, 306/5-5, and 346/5-5, among others. It should be replaced when these symptoms or operational errors are detected.

Guide

How to check if it is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference —. If it is not visible, do not identify the part by its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the PCB (control board) resolves

The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The display does not turn on or show anything.

Cause: The display module is not receiving power or is not showing an image, although the boiler may continue to operate.

Check if the boiler is still heating with the saved programming; if it is, the fault is only with the panel.

  • 02

The buttons on the panel do not respond when pressed.

Cause: The push buttons are part of this PCB, so their failure is usually related to a fault in the display module.

Test several buttons separately and check for visible moisture or oxidation on the frame before replacing the entire PCB.

  • 03

It is not possible to enter the menu or change any settings of the boiler.

Cause: Access to the menu is managed from this PCB, so a fault here prevents programming even though the boiler continues to heat.

Check that the boiler maintains the set temperature; if it does, the problem is with the control panel and not with the heating system.

  • 04

The screen appears to be on but frozen, not updating the information.

Cause: The display module has frozen, which is different from being completely off.

Disconnect the boiler from the power supply for a few seconds and then restore power before changing the PCB; a temporary hang-up is usually resolved this way.

Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.

CodeFaultDiagnosis and solution
F.53Error in combustion regulation.A combustion regulation error has occurred. This may result in inefficient combustion, affecting the performance and safety of the boiler. If you see this code, the PCB may be failing and need to be replaced.
F.54Gas supply fault. There is a fault in the gas supply. This can cause the boiler to not operate correctly, as it does not receive the necessary fuel to function. If this fault code appears, check the PCB, as it could be the cause of the problem.
F.56Fault in the combustion components.A fault has been detected in the combustion components. This may affect the efficiency and safety of the boiler's operation. If you see this code, it is likely that the PCB is involved in the fault.
F.61Error in the gas valve control. There is a fault in the control of the gas valve. This may prevent the boiler from receiving the necessary gas for its operation. If this fault code appears, check the PCB, as it could be the cause of the problem.
F.63Error in the EEPROM memory. An error has been detected in the EEPROM memory. This may cause faults in the operation of the boiler. If you see this code, it is likely that the PCB needs to be checked or replaced.
F.67Electronic fault related to the flame. There is an electronic fault related to the flame. This may affect the safety and operation of the boiler. If you see this fault code, the PCB may be failing.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about the PCB (control board)

Does this display board work for my Vaillant Ecotec Plus VMW 306/5-5?
Yes, the VMW 306/5-5 is among the models listed as compatible, along with the VMW 236, 246, and 346, all 5-5.
What do the acronyms SW1-SW5, MENU, and RESET mean that are seen on the silkscreen of this Vaillant PCB?
They are the designators of the buttons and connectors of the circuit itself (SW1 to SW5, X1, X90, X30, MENU, RESET, FLMOD, TOOLO, VSS, PCBUS); they do not provide manufacturer data.
