How to check if ref. 0020028476 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 0020028476. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the PCB 0020028476 resolves.
The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not light up any indicator lights and does not respond, as if it has no power.
Cause: The PCB should receive 230 V from the mains and convert it to 21 V for the control circuit. If this conversion fails, no current reaches anything.
First of all, check if the T1.25A fuse on the PCB is blown. It's a common fault and easier to fix.
- 02
The boiler works but turns off by itself from time to time, without showing a clear fault code.
Cause: An intermittent problem in the 21 V control circuit can cause shutdowns without generating a clear fault.
Check the connections and the condition of the fuse before deciding to replace the entire PCB.
- 03
An error code appears for a component that seems to be fine upon inspection.
Cause: The PCB manages the signals from sensors and components; a fault in it can cause errors that point to another part that is actually not faulty.
Check the fault code in the boiler manual and make sure that the indicated component is functioning properly before inspecting the PCB.
- 04
The boiler turns on but does not respond to the commands from the remote control or the thermostat.
Cause: The microprocessor on the PCB interprets the commands and activates the boiler; if it fails, the boiler does not operate and remains on standby.
Try to force the demand directly on the boiler to ensure that the problem is not with the thermostat before replacing the PCB.
Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| F.63 | Error in the EEPROM memory of the PCB. | The EEPROM memory of the PCB is faulty and the system detects it as an electronic problem. If the error returns after resetting and there are no issues with the wiring or voltage spikes, follow the manual to diagnose and replace the board. |
| F.64 | Problem with the electronics or the NTC sensor. | There is a short circuit in the NTC sensor of the supply or return, or a fault in the measurement channel of the PCB. If the NTC sensors and their cables are fine, the problem lies with the electronics of the board. Check the sensors and cables; if they are fine, replace the board. |
| F.70 | Invalid appliance code. | If you changed the screen and the PCB at the same time and did not configure the DSN code or the coding resistor, the PCB does not have a valid identification. Check by entering menu d.93 to program the correct DSN or review the coding resistor. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
