Three-Way Valve Actuator Motor for Garda and Riva Boilers (various models)

Stock · 1 unit

The actuator motor for the 3-way valve for Garda and Riva boilers is the component responsible for directing water between the heating circuit and the domestic hot water circuit. When this part fails, you will notice that there is hot water but no heating, or vice versa, and there may even be a mixing of both circuits. It is compatible with several models from the Micon and Minox ranges, among others. It is recommended to replace it when these symptoms occur to restore the proper functioning of your boiler.

How to check if ref. BI1101102 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference BI1101102. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the BI1101102 three-way valve resolves.

The 3-way valve diverts water between heating and domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The hot water from the tap comes out lukewarm while the heating works perfectly.

Cause: The valve does not completely close the flow to heating when hot water is requested, and the water mixes between the two circuits.

Request hot water with the heating off and check if it comes out hot then, before changing the motor.

  • 02

The burner ignites and it is noticeable that the boiler is working, but the radiators remain cold.

Cause: The motor has not moved the valve to the heating position, so the hot water is not reaching the radiators.

Check if the circulator is running and if the radiator valves are open before blaming the valve.

  • 03

The valve seems to be stuck in a single position, regardless of the service requested.

Cause: The pinion or the gear of the actuator has come loose or worn out and no longer drives the valve shaft.

Check if the motor is turning (you can hear or see the pinion moving) even if the valve does not move; this indicates an issue with the gear, not the entire motor.

  • 04

The motor of the gas valve is buzzing, but it does not move from its position.

Cause: The winding receives current but does not have enough torque to overcome the internal friction of the valve.

Wait a few seconds and observe if the buzzing stops on its own or remains constant; note it down before requesting the spare part.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
