How to check if ref. 0020034604 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 0020034604. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the PCB 0020034604 resolves.

The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The boiler shows no signs of life: no display, no fan, no noise when turning it on.

Cause: If 230 V from the mains does not reach the PCB, there is no power for any circuit of the boiler to operate.

Before discarding the PCB, check with a multimeter that 230 V is reaching the input connector of the board.

  • 02

The display lights up, but the boiler does not respond when you request heating.

Cause: The T3.15A fuse may be blown, cutting off the 21 V that powers the internal control circuit.

Check the T3.15A fuse or measure it with a multimeter; if it is blown, verify what caused it to burn out (pump, gas valve) before replacing it.

  • 03

The remote control or the thermostat do not communicate with the boiler, or indicate a communication error.

Cause: The relay or the transformer on the PCB that manages communication with the control may be damaged.

Before changing the PCB, check that the communication bus cable to the control is properly connected and free of oxidation.

  • 04

The boiler turns off by itself a few seconds after trying to ignite, as if something is stopping it.

Cause: If the control circuit fails, the control unit may incorrectly interpret a safety signal and block the ignition.

Before blaming the PCB, rule out faults in the pressure switch, the NTC sensor, or the ionization electrode, which can cause the same problem.

Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.

CodeFaultDiagnosis and solution
F.63Error in the boiler configuration memoryThe EEPROM memory is on this main PCB. If the memory fails or gets corrupted, the board is to blame. Check: if the error persists after a reset and everything is properly connected, it's time to replace the board.
F.64Fault in the electronics or short circuit in NTC sensorsIf the NTC sensors and their wiring are fine and there is no short circuit, the problem lies in the electronics that process the signals. Check: if the sensors and connections are correct but the fault persists after resetting, the PCB is defective.
F.65The PCB overheats. The temperature sensor on the PCB detects too much heat. If there is no external heat source or poor ventilation, the board has a defect. Check: if the environment and ventilation are normal but the fault persists, the board is faulty.
F.61The electronics do not control the gas valve properly. The PCB is the one that controls the gas valve. If the wiring and the valve are fine, the problem may be the PCB. Check: if the wiring and the coils of the valve are correct but the fault persists, the PCB may be the cause (although it is not the only possible one).
F.62The gas valve takes time to turn off.The PCB controls the closure of the gas valve and the signal from the electrode. If the valve and the electrode are fine, the problem may be with the control electronics. Check: if the valve and the electrode are correct but the fault persists, the PCB may be the cause (along with the valve or the electrode).

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
