Touch the body of the pump while the boiler is running: if you feel vibration but do not hear it spinning, try to unlock it with the shaft screw before replacing it.

The pump makes a buzzing sound or vibrates with a strange noise while the heating is operating.
Cause: This is usually air trapped in the circuit or scale rubbing against the impeller, it does not always indicate a motor fault.
Bleed the pump and the radiators before considering that the pump is faulty; in many cases, the noise disappears just by doing this.

After the summer, the pump won't start; it seems to be stuck.
Cause: The shaft gets stuck due to sediment and inactivity after months of not operating in heating mode.
With the boiler turned off and unplugged, try turning the central screw of the shaft with a screwdriver to release it before replacing it.

There is a water leak in the area of the pump, with moisture or dripping around.
Cause: The internal mechanical seal wears out over time and allows water to pass through the shaft.
Dry the area well and check again after a while of operation: if the leak comes from a joint or fitting nearby and not from the body of the pump, the problem is not the pump.
