The ignition transformer generates the high voltage for the spark of the electrodes. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

The boiler does not respond to anything, neither to the remote control nor to the buttons on the panel.
Cause: There is no power in the secondary, so the control board does not receive power to start up.
Measure the voltage at the secondary faston with the multimeter before replacing the part; if there is no reading, the transformer may be damaged.

The protective fuse blows repeatedly shortly after being replaced.
Cause: A short circuit in a component connected to the secondary (fan, gas valve, relay) is drawing more current than it should.
Disconnect the components of the secondary one by one and check if the fuse holds before blaming the transformer.

There is a strange buzzing noise in the electrical panel, louder than usual.
Cause: The core may be saturated or the winding may have a partial short circuit, causing vibrations and heating.
Turn off the power and touch the transformer; if it is hot or smells burnt, it is an indication of a fault.

The boiler has been experiencing intermittent electronic faults that do not always occur in the same way.
Cause: An unstable voltage in the secondary due to a damaged winding causes inconsistent faults.
Note the conditions under which the fault occurs (cold, hot, many hours of use) and measure the secondary voltage at those times if you can reproduce it.
