Stock · 3 units

Membrane expansion vessel for the heating circuit, manufactured by Zilmet, series 13N. It absorbs the increase in water volume when heated and prevents the safety valve from discharging due to thermal expansion. According to the label and sources: 7 liters capacity, 3 bar maximum pressure, 90°C maximum temperature, and 3/8" connection. It is replaced when it loses pressure or the membrane fails.

Guide

How to check if ref. N40G003M0 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference N40G003M0. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the expansion vessel N40G003M0 resolves.

The expansion vessel absorbs the expansion of water when heated. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The safety valve is leaking constantly, not just when the boiler is heating strongly.

Cause: If the diaphragm of the expansion vessel is perforated or has lost gas, the circuit operates continuously near the triggering point of the gas valve.

Measure the cold pressure on the manometer; if it is around or exceeds 2-2.5 bar without having touched the filling, the expansion vessel no longer dampens.

  • 02

The pressure in the system needs to be recharged every few days.

Cause: A vessel without air precharge does not compensate for the expansion of water, and the system gradually loses pressure.

Close the filling valve for a couple of days and check if the cold pressure continues to drop; this way you can rule out a leak in the circuit before touching the expansion vessel.

  • 03

It is necessary to bleed air or recharge the system more frequently than normal.

Cause: When the vessel stops absorbing the expansion, the air and excess pressure seek an outlet through the bleed valves and the filling valve.

Check that the automatic air vents on the radiators are not simply worn out or improperly closed before blaming the expansion vessel.

  • 04

The pressure gauge shows a different pressure when cold and hot, with a difference greater than usual.

Cause: It is the most direct signal that the expansion vessel is no longer performing its function of cushioning the expansion of the water.

Note the cold pressure and after 15-20 minutes of heating on; a significant difference between both confirms the expansion vessel.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
