  Check manually, with the boiler unplugged, that the valve stem moves freely and is not stuck before considering the fault resolved.

  The wrong circuit heats up: you request domestic hot water and it heats the heating, or vice versa.

  Cause: The actuator has become stuck in one position and does not switch between the two circuits.

  Listen to see if you hear the click or hum of the motor starting when requesting domestic hot water; if you don't hear anything, check the actuator's power supply first.

  A buzzing or rattling noise is heard in the valve when the boiler tries to switch modes.

  Cause: The motor turns but does not complete the cycle, usually due to a damaged internal gear or a seized stem.

  Check for lime scale or dirt blocking the valve body before replacing just the motor.

  The boiler takes a long time to provide hot water or seems to distribute between heating and domestic hot water simultaneously.

  Cause: The switching is not clean, and the system mixes the two circuits instead of isolating them.

  Verify that the actuator actually reaches the end of its travel, not just that it starts moving.
